Diabetes Management Class

Senior Citizens Center 111 J.G. Helton Dr., Shelbyville

This six-week program is designed to help people with diabetes learn how to manage their disease and improve their health. Some of the topics covered include nutrition, controlling blood sugar, exercise, stress management, foot care, etc. The program is offered free of charge and will be taught by UT/TSU Extension and the Health Department on

Sobriety Checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint will be present on Thursday, March 7, at 9 p.m. on S.R. 82 at the 6.5 miles marker in Bedford County.

Spaghetti Supper

Blankenship Church 3602 Midland Rd.

Blankenship Community Church will be holding a spaghetti supper on Saturday, March 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church, 3602 Midland Rd. The cost will be $10 per plate and will include spaghetti, bread, drink and desert. Funds raised will benefit the Blankenship Women's Group in their missions.

Spring in Wartrace

This event will be Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be there and available for photos. There will also be face painting and if you wear your Easter Bonnet or Hat, you will qualify for a drawing.

Bedford Together

Shelbyville Square 1 Public Square, Shelbyville

Youth Leadership Bedford, in partnership with Tony Rice, will be hosting “Bedford Together” on Saturday, March 23, on the Shelbyville Square from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will have games, live entertainment, and food trucks.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration will be May 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at each elementary school (Cartwright registration will be hosted at East Side Elementary School & Eakin Elementary School).
