The Bedford County Anti-Drug Coalition will meet at 6 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 2200 N. Main St. in Shelbyville on Thursday, Feb. 29. This meeting will be open to the public.

Matter of Balance

Senior Citizens Center 111 J.G. Helton Dr., Shelbyville

Matter of Balance is a program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. The series of eight classes consists of discussion, activities and exercises to reduce fall risks and increase strength and balance. The class is free and will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays, March 1 – 26, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Sobriety Checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint will be present on Friday, March 1, on US 41A North about a mile south of the 3 mile maker in Bedford County at 9 p.m..

Free Breakfast

Blankenship Church 3602 Midland Rd.

Blankenship Community Church will be having their 1st Saturday of the Month Breakfast at 8 a.m. at the church. The free breakfast will include sausage, biscuits, hog jaw bacon, coffee, potatoes, country ham, gravy, eggs, pork tenderloin. Donations are appreciated.

Commodities Distribution

Diabetes Management Class

This six-week program is designed to help people with diabetes learn how to manage their disease and improve their health. Some of the topics covered include nutrition, controlling blood sugar, exercise, stress management, foot care, etc. The program is offered free of charge and will be taught by UT/TSU Extension and the Health Department on
