Presidents’ Day Closures

County offices, the highway department, and convenience centers will all be closed for Presidents’ Day on Monday, Feb. 19.

The Bedford County Standing Committees will meet beginning at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the second floor of the historic courthouse. The Rules and Legislative Committee meets at 5 p.m., immediately followed by the Law Enforcement Committee and then the Courthouse and County Property Committee.

Deadline for submitting absentee by mail applications for the March 5 primary election. They must be received by the election office by that day.

The Bedford County Anti-Drug Coalition will meet at 6 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 2200 N. Main St. in Shelbyville on Thursday, Feb. 29. This meeting will be open to the public.

Matter of Balance

Senior Citizens Center 111 J.G. Helton Dr., Shelbyville

Matter of Balance is a program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. The series of eight classes consists of discussion, activities and exercises to reduce fall risks and increase strength and balance. The class is free and will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays, March 1 – 26, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Sobriety Checkpoint

A sobriety checkpoint will be present on Friday, March 1, on US 41A North about a mile south of the 3 mile maker in Bedford County at 9 p.m..
